Dalton Dingus gets Christmas wish, beats record in Guinness Book

(WHAS 11)--Remember the 9-year-old Kentucky boy whose dying wish was to set the world record for getting the most Christmas cards?

We told you about his dying wish before Christmas and now , it looks like he may have done it. 

Dalton Dingus of Salyersville Kentucky has stage four cystic fibrosis, which is terminal.

A family friend posted his wish on Facebook and the cards began coming in from all over the world.

His mom says they've gotten more than 504,000! So many, in fact, they can't all fit in Dalton’s home.

A spokesperson for the Guinness Book of World Records says they don't have a real category anymore but when they did, a Canadian held the record at 250,000.

Dalton has already doubled that!
