LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- This Halloween brought all treats, no tricks, for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

"Thanks to the Pleasure Ridge Fire Department the Waverly Hills Historical Society was able to raise $14,000 this year and we couldn't have done it without them," Charlie Mattingly, Waverly Hills Historical Society, said.

A haunted house at Waverly Hills brought in a whopping 40-percent increase in donations for the crusade compared to last year. Charlie Mattingly says some new ideas led to that success.

This year's $14,000 donation brings Waverly Hill's total to more than $134,000 in 12 years.
