LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – In the spirit of charitable giving, the WHAS Crusade for Children delivered on of its largest grants Friday.
The Crusade for Children CEO Dawn Lee presented the University of Louisville with a check for $947,000.
Among the projects funded by the money from the Crusade will be the renovation of a pediatric care unit and a new clinical site for treating children on the autism spectrum. Money will also provide salaries from psychologists, speech and occupational specialists.
“It’s critical to what we’re doing. Its groups like the Crusade who year after year provides us the support to do what we do for the children in this community,” University of Louisville President James Ramsey said.
The Crusade and University of Louisville will be collaborating on 15 different projects this year and funding will be used immediately to help provide care for thousands of children with special needs.
