LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The dance troop people have watched grow up on the WHAS Crusade for Children is celebrating a major first Tuesday afternoon.

One member of the Miracle Dancers has become the first to sign a profession dance contract and her story is inspiring.

Kristen Knabel returned to the Miracle Dancers studio amid cheers and applause.  Everyone is celebrating Knabel’s successful audition and acceptance by the Cleveland, Ohio professional dance company, Dancing Wheels.

Knabel, her mom Lauri and Miracle Dancers choreographer and teacher Diane Chambers went to Cleveland for the audition.  Knabel was asked to attend a dance class and then she performed a one minute recital which she choreographed.

After the audition Knabel spent a tense lunch and then met with Dancing Wheels president Mary-Verdi Fletcher who told her that she had landed her dream job.

Being the first miracle dancer to sign a professional contract is inspiring other miracle dances to dream big.

Knabel will start with the Dancing Wheels Company on June 1, which means she probably won't be dancing with the Miracle Dancers on this year's Crusade.

Right now Knabel and her mom are busy finding Knabel a place to live as she starts her dream job.
