(WHAS 11)--It's all about reducing crime in neighborhoods.

The first Crime Reduction and Awareness Walk this year is being held by metro councilwoman Marianne Butler and the fourth division of Louisville Metro Police.

The walk will help bring police and residents together and allows the residents to learn more about crime prevention and how to begin a block watch program.

The first steps to learning about the project will be taken at 5th and Evelyn in the Oakdale neighborhood May 27 at 6.
