LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Louisville Fire and Rescue crews were called to a home on S. 3rd Street Friday morning on a report of a structure fire.
The fire broke out in a home on the 4600 block around 9 a.m.
Cpt. Sal Melendez said the homeowner was at home with his two children when he heard a loud noise and then notice smoke coming from the upper floor of the home.
The fire is out, but did break through the roof of the home, firefighters said.
Melendez said he believes the fire started on the first floor of the home and the working to determine the cause.
