HAZLEHURST, Ga. (AP) - Firefighters are expected to continue battling a large blaze at a wood processing facility.
Authorities say a fire at a large wood processing plant in Hazlehurst Monday spread to several lumber warehouses. Jeff Davis County Sheriff Preston Bohannon told local media outlets the blaze became so large that the Georgia Forestry Commission was called to drop water on it from a helicopter.
Authorities have said the fire partially spread because wind blew embers from one part of the facility to others.
Hazlehurst is about 100 miles southeast of Macon.
