(WHAS11) -- For the first time in weeks, we're hearing from the embattled Metro Council member Judy Green. Hospitalized until now, she spoke to WHAS11 Wednesday night.

Councilwoman Green does not want to go public with her health issues, but she says she's doing better. When she talked to WHAS11 Wednesday she was very upset, saying some Metro Council members have a vendetta against her and are taking it out on her constituents. A Metro Council spokesperson says that's not so. And this issue of funding some upcoming projects can easily be resolved.

"How they are being disenfranchised and hurt by this whole mess..." Metro Councilperson Judy Green said.

Metro Councilperson Judy Green was brought to tears over what she calls maliciousness from Metro Council.

"I just want to say that I am very upset, very upset with my colleagues. I thought there were more people on the council that had a moral compass than what they did,” said Green.

Metro Council's Appropriations Committee met Wednesday. Green requested $500 in funding for the WIBBY foundation and $375 for a reunion celebration in Elliott Park. She's upset the council members on the committee did not vote "yes" on her requests.

"I think it's wrong, hateful, evil. I pray for these souls. I really don't think there's a moral compass in their hearts,” Green said.

But Metro Council Spokesperson Tony Hyatt says the committee voted neither yes nor no. He says there were questions about the projects and funding and neither Green nor someone from her office contacted the committee chair with answers. He says, when the questions are answered, the committee will vote. So what is the Elliott Park reunion day anyway?

"It's a celebration just like the Newburg day... kids come home, parents come home, it's a celebration,” Nancy Demartra with the Elliott Park Reunion Celebration said.

It happens Sept. 10 and if they don't get the funding she says it will happen anyway, just without certain activities. As far as Green is concerned, the council's move to remove her from her seat, is what she calls a “witch hunt.” She says it's taken a toll on her health, but she'll fight for her constituents. Still, she says she's disappointed in her colleagues.

"This whole thing about disenfranchising district one constituents is wrong,” Green said.

You'll recall Green's request to delay the ethics trial was denied. That trial is set to start in September.
