LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A Louisville Metro Corrections inmate has died hours after he was arrested.
According to Metro Corrections officials, 49-year-old Robert Brown underwent a medical evaluation Saturday night following his arrest for public intoxication and several other charges.
He was taken from Metro Corrections to University Hospital for medical attention and then booked back into the jail.
Hours later, officers found Brown unresponsive on the floor and was pronounced dead just before 8 a.m. Sunday.
Metro Corrections says an autopsy will be performed and there will be a review from LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit which is standard whenever there’s a death in the jail.
