Convicted Ky. rapist dies in prison

LA GRANGE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A man considered a serial killer in Kentucky who was convicted of two murders and connected to even more has died in prison.

James Ray Cable died at the La Grange Penitentiary overnight from natural causes, he was 65-years-old.

Cable was convicted of killing two women in the 1980’s in Jefferson County and tied to another murder in Owensboro.

He had a long history of crimes including convictions for raping and kidnapping a teenager from Jefferson County who managed to escape after shooting and killing Cable’s accomplice.
