LA GRANGE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A controversy is underway in La Grange after the apparent killing of nearly two dozen geese.
Late Wednesday afternoon, a former city leader confirmed that the birds were killed at Wilborn Park on Tuesday.
La Grange city officials were concerned the birds were causing health risks for park visitors and officials had tried other means to get rid of them, but failed.
A person living near the park said he didn't have a problem with the geese.
WHAS11 attempted to track down the La Grange mayor and police chief for comments.
The chief replied to our inquiry by email, informing us that all questions should be sent to the mayor.
The mayor was unable to be reached.
