HAZARD, Ky. (AP) -- An eastern Kentucky teacher has been arrested at school on intoxication and drug charges.
WYMT-TV in Hazard reported Manchester Police charged 42-year-old Marietta House Abner with public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.
Abner was arrested Monday at Goose Rock Elementary School where she is a special education teacher.
Police Chief Jeff Culver said a school resource officer arrested Abner after a call from the Clay County Board of Education.
The officer said Abner's speech was slurred and she had trouble maintaining her balance.
The station said Abner wasn't available for comment and Superintendent Reecia Samples said the school board will decide what action to take.
