CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Clarksville police are cracking down on drug dealers.

Undercover detectives made two separate drug busts on Tuesday landing five people behind bars.

According to Major Darrell Rayburn, police had been keeping an eye on 27-year-old Troy Daffron for weeks after they received tips of people coming and going out of his Star Motel room.

Police say he tried to hide the drugs when they arrived.

"When we went in the door he dove under the bed. We believe he swallowed what he had. We know he was in there packaging heroin," Rayburn said.

Occupants at the Star Motel on Highway 31 said Daffron had moved in there about a week ago.

Police also searched Daffron's car for more drugs. He was taken to the hospital were police were having his stomached pumped to find out what exactly he swallowed and how much.

Daffron faces nuisance charges and drug charges. Police say more charges are pending.

According to police, the four people arrested in the earlier bust were dealing crack cocaine.
