LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Clarksville Community School Corporation kicked off construction of a new high school today.

The moment also marked the beginning of the redevelopment of the former Value City building on Eastern Boulevard.

The property, which has been vacant for nearly 10 years, is the future home of an innovative new project-based learning high school.

“What new tech brings to teaching and learning in a culture that truly does empower every student in that school to believe that they can succeed and achieve whatever they choose, CCSC Superintendent Kimberly Knott said.

The new unnamed high school is set to open in August 2014.
