LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- People gathered at Churchill Downs Saturday for opening night of the Spring Meet.
Despite heavy thunderstorms that caused delays and forced people inside to take cover, the night went on as planned.
Horse racing started at 6 p.m. on Saturday with live entertainment and music.
While there was a brief delay for weather, the racing started up again around 8:45 p.m.
The last post was scheduled for 11:10 p.m.
Admission was just $10.
