Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Murder charges were dropped against two La Grange men accused of killing a man in May.

According to court records, a grand jury failed to indict Henry Schultz-Eggenspiller, 22, on murder and Roberto Cabrera Jr., 46, on conspiracy to murder in connection with the shooting death of Justin Rogers.

The charges were then dropped.

Both had said they acted in self defense in the shooting, which happened during a drug deal.

The shooting happened around in the backyard of a La Grange home around 10 p.m.  May 11 in the 400 block of East Washington Street.

Rogers, 24, was shot and killed with a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The two are still facing drug and other charges.

This was the first murder in LaGrange since 2009.
