FISHERS, Ind. (WHAS11)—Charges against a mother who sparked an Amber Alert last year is speaking after all charges against her were dropped.

Jennifer Ansari is talking about the last several months, after she was charged with interfering in the custody of her 8-year-old daughter, Sophia Snow. She was supposed to turn over Sophia to her father by a court order.

Whan Ansari didn’t, the Amber Alert was issued, but she said she never kidnapped her daughter. Instead she said she simply drove from Indiana to her parent’s house in Valley Station to visit them over the Labor Day weekend.

She said she did nothing wrong and refused to admit to a crime.

“We've been through several preconference hearings, a couple of plea negotiations which I refused,” Ansari said. “They offered me a misdemeanor a couple of times which I refused."

Ansari’s daughter is currently living with her father in Florida and has not seen her since last September.

She is currently fighting to get custody of her daughter.
