LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A Louisville man was arrested after police said he was drunk when he struck several parked cars while driving with his great-grandson in the car.
Dorvis Richburg is charged with wanton endangerment, possession of an open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Police said they were called to the area of 3200 block of Garland Avenue Saturday night on a report that Richburg struck multiple parked cars.
When officers arrived, they said Richburg was unsteady on his feet, had glassy and slurred speech and smelled of alcohol.
He reportedly told an officer he didn't need conduct a field sobriety test because he "was pretty drunk."
The man's 6-year-old great-grandson was riding unrestrained in the front seat of the car, police said.
Richburg said he had been drinking all day because they were giving free drinks.
