Danville, Ky. (WHAS11)- Nearly three years after a fiery riot at a central Kentucky prison, the facility has been rebuilt and will soon be back to the same population it had before the riot.
On August 21, 2009, inmates at the Northpoint Training Center in Danville set fire to several buildings.
Six buildings, including the kitchen and several dormitories, were declared uninhabitable.
In June a new programs facility was opened.
It includes several security upgrades and a new building for visitations.
The warden says the current population is just under 1100 inmates, which is about 150 less than it had before the riot.
