GHENT, Ky (WHAS11) -- A Carroll County man and woman were arrested following the death of their 2-year-old son.
Police said the child was found deceased in his bed on Feb. 19, by his mother, 28-year-old Amanda Foster. Foster called 911 and police began an investigation.
Police said Douglas Allen, 26, gave narcotics to his son which led to the boy's death. Allen was arrested shortly after his son was found dead. Foster was arrested at her home on Tuesday, April 1, by Detective Mickey Gonterman on charges of criminal abuse, in the first degree, and transfer of a controlled substance to a Minor.
According to the toxicology report, the boy had high levels of Oxycodone in his system at the time of his death. The narcotic drug is mostly used as a prescribed pain killer.
Allen was arrested and is being held at Carroll County Detention Center. Foster is being held at the Carroll County Detention Center.
