LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- If you're a fan, then you know it's a rivalry like no other.
"This is the type of week where you can lose friends. Folks this is the kind of week where relatives don't speak to you. This is the kind of week that could drive you to drink. This is Louisville and Kentucky in the Sweet Sixteen," host of the "Afternoon Underdogs" Tony Vanetti said.
"The two teams playing I think it's great for the state and its fun for a week of trash talk," Kentucky Sports Radio host Matt Jones said.
The trash talk started on Selection Sunday but now it's really happening and everyone's talking about it.
"I really appreciate the fact that UK decided to knock out the best team and make it easier for us to get to the Final Four. Thanks guys," UofL fan Brian Straub said.
For UofL fans it may be tough to admit, but the momentum appears to be mounting for the Wildcats.
"I had UofL going on, but after watching UK play yesterday, boy they're going to have to play really well to win," former University of Louisville coach and host of "The Joe B and Denny Show" Denny Crum said.
"Most people are picking Kentucky, even though Vegas has Louisville as a favorite," Vanetti said.
"It's a nightmare matchup for the University of Louisville Cardinals," UK fan Jason Zavada said.
Stubhub.com still has plenty of tickets. For a 600 level ticket, the going rate is around $120 per ticket. You want anything remotely close to the court? That will run you nearly $2,000 or more for a pair. There's even a single lower level ticket for sale at $10,503! But one thing's for sure, the state of Kentucky will be watching this game. Right now, no one knows the outcome.
"You can play real well and not beat Kentucky and you can play real well and not beat Louisville. It oughta be a heck of a battle," Crum said.
