LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – We’re just under a week until the second race of the Triple Crown and one horse is getting one last gallop at Churchill Downs before his next big run.

Kentucky Derby winner California Chrome will be leaving Churchill Downs Monday morning to head to Baltimore for Saturday’s Preakness Stakes.

According to Downs’ officials, California Chrome will take one last ride around the track at 6 a.m. before leaving for the Lexington airport to catch his flight.

Chrome’s trainer Art Sherman became the oldest trainer to win the most coveted race.
