EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) -- Butler University still has to get through the NCAA men's Final Four basketball tourney, but people in Evansville already are looking forward to the Bulldogs' next season.

University of Evansville coach Marty Simmons said Thursday that the Bulldogs will be the opponent when his squad opens its home schedule in a new downtown arena Nov. 12.

Simmons says he'll welcome the national attention if the Aces' home opener is against the defending national champion. Butler plays Virginia Commonwealth in a national semifinal Saturday, with the winner advancing to the final Monday night.

Evansville handed Butler (27-9) one of its losses this season, winning 71-68 in overtime at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Nov. 27. It was the first time the Aces beat a team that went on to reach a Final Four.
