(WHAS11)  A day of business was cut short for one Westport Village store, when a car barreled through the building this Saturday afternoon.

Patsy Grudzielanek, owner of Petina Interiors said, “We were working. We saw a car accelerate over the curb and come through the door.”

The owners of Petina Interiors were trying to describe what happened after the car left a hole in the front of their store.

They said police are investigating if whether the driver’s accelerator may have jammed.

The store will be closed until Tuesday, while the damage is cleaned up.
