CARROLL CO., Ky. (WHAS11) -- A woman who was on board the Carroll County school bus when it crashed last month is speaking out.

Nine children and two adults were aboard the Carroll County School District bus that was traveling home from a Head Start program when it flipped over on a country lane and crashed into a tree. The lawsuit says one bus rider, Erica Isaias Cruz, fractured her left leg, and the second, Ryleigh Nicole Hollingsworth, fractured her collarbone.

The families of two children injured are suing the bus driver and the board of education. The lawsuit claims the bus driver, Laura Reed, was driving recklessly. According to the lawsuit, a witness saw her speeding.

Now, the bus monitor, Tina Grividen, is speaking out on behalf of the bus driver.

Grividen said the driver was not speeding.

Police have yet to determine if speed played a factor in the crash as their investigation continues.
