MT. WASHINGTON, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Bullitt County auto body shop owner is behind bars accused of raping a customer.
Sixty-six-year-old Wesley Bryson is being held under a $100,000 bond, charged with first degree rape. The alleged incident happened early Wednesday morning, around 1:30 a.m., at Bryson’s Auto Body Shop in Mt. Washington.
The 19-year-old victim said she went to the garage to pick up her car which Bryson had repaired. The woman said while she was inside the shop, which was also Bryson’s home, he threw her down on a bed and raped her as she struggled to get free.
Bryson told police he gave the woman $12 to buy pain pills from a nearby apartment complex. He said when the victim returned she crushed up the pills and snorted them, then had consensual sex with him because she didn't have enough money to pay him for the repairs.
Police said the victim was incapable of consent because she used prescription drugs earlier.
This is not the first time Bryson has been in trouble with the law over a customer at his body shop. He was charged last year with assault after police said he hit a customer in the head with a crowbar. He was indicted, but the case was dismissed in May.
Bryson was also arrested in 2010 for terroristic threatening and theft. He entered a diversion program for those charges.
