LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- A new social club in the Buechel neighborhood was met with opposition on Tuesday night at the Bon Air Library.
The club, Fringe Elements, reportedly works with people from all types of social groups that deal with gender and sexual issues.
Kenny Evans, the assistant director of the club, said Fringe Elements is “definitely” not a swingers club.
Nearly 200 people were in attendance at the library, voicing disapproval of the club.
Kendall Kelly, who has performed at Fringe Elements before, explains that his show is about body image and excepting who you are.
"Someone might assume certain things about the show, if you haven't seen it. It's a hard thing to understand, it's not pornographic at all, it's very artistic, it's about our body issues and our body histories and self acceptance, it's about community and education," Kelly said.
Right now Fringe Elements has a zoning violation and needs an adjustment in order to stay at its current location. That's why the board of directors is looking for a new space to rent out.
