(WHAS11) -- Starting Friday night at 8 p.m., the stretch of Brownsboro Road between US 42 and Warrington Way, will be shut down entirely.
It is scheduled to reopen Monday, August 13 at 5 a.m.
The stretch of road is next to where the new VA hospital will be built.
The project was planned before the site for the VA hospital was selected but the improvements at the I-264 interchange are expected to help with traffic flow in the congested area.
