LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Kentucky Transportation Cabinet bridge engineers will be performing a biannual inspection of the bridges on I-64 over the Kentucky River in Franklin County (mile point 55.4).
The inspection is scheduled to begin October 7 on the eastbound bridge and should be completed in one week. Inspection of the bridge on westbound I-64 is scheduled for the week of October 14.
The right lane on I-64 will be closed weekdays from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. to allow for this assessment. Inspectors will be using a snooper truck to inspect the underside of these bridges.
All bridges in Kentucky are inspected at least once every two years.
