LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Our hearts are heavy with the loss of a friend -- a woman who WHAS11 got to know through our association with Race for the Cure.
Ann Marchal had everything to do with surviving breast cancer, bot just her own personal battle with the disease, but then becoming a volunteer to help countless other men and women.
She was a board member with Komen, a Race Chair, volunteer and a survivor who was beautiful inside and out.
She was willing to do the craziest things to make survivors smile and lift their spirits. She even put on a pink wig for the Survivor's Dinner.
She passed away this weekend, not from breast cancer, but a blood clot unrelated to the cancer she survived.
Her friends say she was one of Komen's leaders of the pack and loved by all.
She always found the best in people and was ready to cheer them on.
Ann Marchal, your smile and spirit will be missed.
