LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Forty years ago today Kentuckiana was in the middle of one of the biggest tornado outbreaks in U.S. history.
The storms spawned nearly 150 tornadoes in 13 states.
More than 300 people were killed and 118 of those deaths were in Kentucky and Indiana.
Today is a day for remembrance.
Meteorologist Reed Yadon has more from Brandenburg, were 31 people lost their lives in this outbreak.
