CHICAGO (AP) — Authorities say an 11-year-old Chicago boy on his way to get a Christmas haircut with family members is dead after a carjacked vehicle being pursued by police crashed into the family's car.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday (http://bit.ly/1a1IxcR) that Donovan Anthony Turnage was a fifth grader.
Turnage, his father and brother were on their way to get haircuts on Saturday. Police allege officers on patrol saw an armed carjacking and drove after the car, which crashed into the family's vehicle.
Authorities say the carjacker allegedly stole another vehicle and got away.
Chicago police spokesman Adam Collins says the police chase is under review, which is standard procedure.
Turner's mother Annette Turnage says her son loved football and video games and had a pet bird and pet turtle.
