(WHAS11) – America’s first bottled bourbon has a very unique opportunity for its consumers.

Old Forester has launched a single barrel program.

Starting May 1, bourbon fans can personally pick and buy their own barrel of Old Forester through a private tasting inside a barrel warehouse.

“It’s a distinct pleasure for us to actually do our first single barrel program for the brand. Each single barrel is in a specialized bottle and you get a specialized necker that you can put your company name or logo on it. So you get 240 bottles of this to give to your best friends and I’m sure they’ll love you for that,” Old Forester brand manager Therese McGuire said.

The original white oak barrel that contained the bourbon and a personalized barrel head are included. The name of each buyer will also be out on a plaque inside the distillery’s tasting area.

The estimated price per barrel is around $7500.
