BORDEN, Ind. (WHAS11) -- A local landmark, Brewer's General Store, went up for auction Saturday but still doesn't have a new owner.
The general store opened in the 1930s and closed at the end of march.
The owners tried to auction the store off on Saturday, but it didn't sell. They say they will consider trying to auction it off again in the future.
However, much of what was inside did sell. Hundreds of antique items from signs to store equipment were auctioned.
Customers say they loved the general store, because it had just about everything from appliances to food, toys and jewelry.
"These old stores, that's where all the old people sat around and you got all your information, and you know, people now they dont' even have time to sit and talk," said former customer Stanley Kingsley. "Its too busy now. Everything's too busy."
