SEYMOUR, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Indiana State Police have found a body in a remote area near Seymour and have confirmed the body is that of 35-year-old John Michael Fish of Indianapolis.
Police said Fish died from a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
A police helicopter discovered the body several hundred yards west of I-65 and north of U.S. 50. Fish's body is located in an extremely remote area that is only accessible by four wheel drive vehicle.
A statewide manhunt was launched Monday night after police say Fish exchanged gunfire with an trooper during a routine traffic stop.
