LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Coroner has released the identity of the man found dead in Beargrass Creek on Grinstead Drive near Lexington Avenue.

Police say James Baldwin, 50, was biking when he fell and possibly hit his head on a rock.

Baldwin was quiet and kept to himself but the one thing he loved to do was ride his bike. A freak accident on board that beloved bike on Tuesday, April 24,lead to his drowning.

Neighbors in the highlands saw James Baldwin on his three wheeled bike often through these streets.

Wanda Durr lived across the street from Baldwin for years. She said he had a disability brought on by a previous accident and says his family was worried about him riding his bike so much.

“They was concerned about him. He first got hurt in a motorcycle accident that is what started his health problems and I know he's been in two bicycle accidents,” Durr said.

Baldwin was found dead in Beargrass Creek Tuesday evening. He was on the bike trail by Grinstead and Lexington Road when he lost control of his bike. He was wearing a helmet but authorities say he drowned and had blunt force injuries.

No foul play is suspected.
