LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Cards fans are even sporting blue this afternoon in part of "Blue of L" Day.

It's all to raise awareness about colon cancer and the importance of screenings.

Basketball legend Darrell Griffith was among those wearing blue at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center along with Paul Rogers, the voice of the Cards.

Mideline Abramson, the wife of Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, is the honorary chair for this year's event.

"It's a lot of fun but it's a very serious mission because colon cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer deaths in KY," Abramson said. "Colon cancer is highly treatable, highly preventable if found early so we're here telling Kentuckians please get screened. If you're 50 and over or if you have a history of colon cancer in your family, get that screening and take care of your health."
