LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The Better Business Bureau is warning Kentuckiana residents of a robocall scam using the name of a local bank.

People are receiving calls at home and on cell phones telling them there was an issue regarding their Stock Yards Bank debit card.

The automated call asks the person to order a new one.

Representatives from Stock Yards say the calls are not coming from them.

The BBB warns individuals not to give out personal information.

“If your bank calls you for your personal information, that’s a red flag. Your bank already has your personal information so don’t be willing to give that information out to anyone that makes a phone call to you,” Reanna Smith-Hamblin, with the BBB, said.

Other banks including Republic are also warning customers of the scam.

If you received one of these calls and gave any of your personal information, call the number on the back of your debit card immediately and let your bank know what happened.
