(WHAS11)—On Monday Gov. Steve Beshear made a move to make Kentucky more of a powerhouse in the automotive industry.
Beshear created what he calls the “Kentucky Automotive Industry Associaton” which brings together suppliers, manufacturers and support services inside the industry.
Beshear said the association will give the industry a unified voice and a network to share the best practices.
Kentucky produced 1.2 million vehicles in 2013, and employs nearly 82,000 people in the auto industry.
The Governor said this move will only help those numbers.
