LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)--The Belle of Louisville brought the Silver Antlers back to the Derby City head of the 140th Run for the Roses Saturday.
Before the steamboats hit the course, other events took place on the wharf to give the teams points to determine the overall winners, with the Belle of Louisville leading 47.5 points to the Belle of Cincinnati's 42.5.
Once on the water, the Belle of Louisville was the first back to the finish line, helping them win overall points and bringing the Silver Antler's back home to Louisville.
Once the race was over, the Belle of Cincinnati conceded in honor of the Belle of Louisville's 100th birthday. The annoucement was made as the awards ceremony got underway on the music stage at the Chow Wagon.
The Belle of Louisville's official Twitter account even joked to the Belle of Cincinnati, wondering where they were when the Belle of Louisville crossed the finish line.
Crowds lined up ahead of the race to board both vessels to be a part of this year's race. Both captains even took a few jabs at each other earlier in the week on WHAS11 News at Noon.
