Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - The Belle of Louisville crew is taking precautions to keep customers and the steamboat safe in all of the high waters.
Due to the high level of the Ohio River and the floating debris, the Belle is cancelling all school field trips this week.
About 1,500 school children were affected.
They will still have evening excursions but the captain will make the call if they can go out on a cruise or stay dockside.
The Belle's director says the school cancellations mean a loss of revenue of about $1,500.
The Belle is contacting schools about the cancellations and working to try and reschedule the field trips.
