Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - Defense attorneys for Cecil New have asked the judge for a change of venue.
The judge has not yet ruled on the motion.
New is charged with the 2007 kidnapping and murder of Ivan Cano.
His body was found in a garbage truck a few days later.
The judge may seal the motions in this case to protect why the defense has asked for a change of venue in this case.
Right now his trial is set to begin in Louisville in February.
