LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man was arrested on charges of robbery and attempted murder after a victim identified the man to police.

Police say Ovell Patton, 28, and another man were armed with guns when they approached a victim at an apartment. According to a police report the men were wearing toboggans pulled over their faces when they approached the victim and put him in a headlock.

The police report says Patton dragged the victim back to a dark area where he put the victim face down on the ground, held a gun to his head and demanded the victim's property. Police say Patton and the other man took $200 cash and the victim's cell phone.

According to the police report Patton told the other man to kill the victim. The victim struggled for the gun and fled on foot. Patton allegedly fired four shots at the victim then got into a black Impala and fled the scene.

The victim was able to point out the car to a police officer near the scene. Police pulled over the vehicle two blocks from the scene. According to a police report, the men fled the car but the female driver was arrested. The victim was able to see through the toboggans because they were thin and the victim later identified Patton from a photo.

Patton was charged with first degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and attempted murder.
