FRANKFORT, Ky. (NEWS RELEASE) – Crews will close the left or “fast” lane of traffic on I-64 westbound at the Kentucky approach of the Sherman Minton Bridge on Tuesday, May 6.  The shoulder along I-264 westbound leading to the approach will also close.  The closure is for lighting repairs along the bridge’s approach.

The work is scheduled Tuesday through Thursday – May 6 through May 8 – from 9 a.m. EDT until 3 p.m. EDT, each day.

Two lanes of I-64 westbound will be open to traffic at all times during the scheduled work hours.  There will be NO lane closure on the Sherman Minton Bridge itself. Appropriate signage and workers will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public.  Please use caution while driving through the work zone.

The starting date and duration of work are dependent on weather conditions and may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseen delays. Dial 511 or log on to 511.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
