(WHAS11) -- Apple employees in California have filed a class-action lawsuit against the company.

Workers said they didn't get meal breaks or rest periods, which is a violation of the California Labor Law.

The lawsuit claims Apple forced them to work for stretches of five hours or more without meals and those working shorter shifts got no breaks at all.

Attorneys estimate more than 20,000 current or former Apple Employees have been affected and it involves everyone from retail to high-level corporate employees.
