LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Another unsuspecting Louisville family received an unexpected miracle just in time for the Christmas holiday.

The Garcia family came to the Meijer on Dixie Highway for ice cream but walked away with so much more.

The Bruce family, who were on the receiving end earlier this week, helped pick out the lucky family to receive a Christmas surprise.

Raymond Bruce and his wife even raised money to donate to the family themselves.

“We want to know what it feels like to be on the other end of this,” Bruce said.

After walking around the store, the Bruce’s picked the Garcia family.

Angela Garcia shopped with her two young kids and her mother. “I wasn’t sure what to think. I was kind of on guard. Anytime somebody comes up and asks about the kids, I’m on guard,” Garcia said.

Garcia is recently divorced and moved back in with her mother to help land back on her feet. She says this surprise couldn’t have come at a better time.

“It’s a lot of money that will help a whole lot with these two,” she said.

The organizer of these Christmas miracles, Brian Bailey, also raised another $669 for four other needy families in the community.

He said they are already working on doing at least one more of these surprises.
