PRP accident leaves 7-year-old dead, 4 others injured

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A two-vehicle accident in Pleasure Ridge Park has left a child dead and four others injured Saturday.

Police say the accident happened in the 7200 block of Terry Road and Rivers Edge Road when an SUV collided with a van causing it to roll over and land on its roof.

The 7-year-old victim was traveling with two other children and an adult driver. All three were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries while the 7-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the relationship of the four in the van is unknown at the time. The two other children were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the SUV was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Louisville Metro Police are still trying to determine a cause for the accident.
