(WHAS11) - A local animal rescue group is calling for tougher abuse laws after another case of animal cruelty.
A yellow Labrador Retriever was found battered and abused. Named Miss Ellie, she was brought to Shamrock Arrow Fund in Louisville from Bell County, Ky. Her entire tail was cut off and a back leg was mauled and will need to be amputated.
The dog will undergo surgery Tuesday.
