LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police have nabbed their suspect in the murder of a 24-year-old man found dead in Cox Park earlier this week.

The 911 calls have been released featuring a resident who was caught in the middle of the crime.

Police say Naushawn Mills shot and killed Brandon Shackelford after accepting a ride with him and his cousin in Fern Creek Monday.

That’s when Shackelford’s cousin got away and ran for help to a house on Beulah Church Road.

Police say Mills drove the body to the park and tried unsuccessfully to burn the car and evidence.

He is being held on a $1 million bond.
