LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Jefferson County woman is suing Louisville police for a 2007 SWAT team raid on her home, saying her right to be free from unreasonable searches was violated.
Police were looking for evidence against Sharon Ramage's son, who was under investigation after dropping off film showing him and his two sons naked. Charges against her son were later dismissed.
The Courier-Journal reports that Ramage, a 57-year-old grandmother, was ironing clothes when the police assault on her home began shortly after nightfall.
It included a helicopter, armored vehicle and 35 members of the Louisville Metro SWAT team. Officers stormed through her door, bound her wrists with flex cuffs and held her at gunpoint while detectives searched the home.
